The holidays are a great time because that is when my brother comes
down from college. My family are big sports fans. So during the holidays I usually have basketball tournaments and there are a lot of great NBA games on television. My family come to my games to watch me play and then we go home and thats when the fun starts. My mom and sister comes home and cook A big dinner and we all just sit around and watch NBA games. Also we all get together and fix up the christmas tree. We sometimes go to one of my family members house to eat dinner on christmas eve. After we eat dinner we go home and watch movies till its time to open gifts.

Post Othello
I think one issue to address is how some people are fake friends. In Othello Iago showed me how you should really watch your friends close because they may not be a true friend. When I think of Iago i think of the quote "Keep yours friends close but your enemies closer." Also threw out the whole play I realized that the way Iago acted is how high school students are now. In high school everyone is going to run into that one fake friend that wants you to not do well. To summarize, Iago taught me to choose my friends wisely.
Another thing I was thinking is the same way Othello believed Iago about Desdemona is the same way the same situation would happen now a days. Usually the person is informed on some kind of social media that there boyfriend or girlfriend is cheating on them. And the they don't think to talk to them about it, they just believe what they are told. If Othello would have talked to Cassio and Desdemona together about the situation then maybe Desdemona wouldn't have been killed. I think we all have times when someone tells us something and it sounds so believable that we don't try to figure out the truth.

Poetry Out Loud : Old Men Playing Basketball
Old Men Playing BasketballBy B. H. Fairchild
The heavy bodies lunge, the broken language
of fake and drive, glamorous jump shot
slowed to a stutter. Their gestures, in love
again with the pure geometry of curves,
rise toward the ball, falter, and fall away.
On the boards their hands and fingertips
tremble in tense little prayers of reach
and balance. Then, the grind of bone
and socket, the caught breath, the sigh,
the grunt of the body laboring to give
birth to itself. In their toiling and grand
sweeps, I wonder, do they still make love
to their wives, kissing the undersides
of their wrists, dancing the old soft-shoe
of desire? And on the long walk home
from the VFW, do they still sing
to the drunken moon? Stands full, clock
moving, the one in army fatigues
and houseshoes says to himself, pick and roll,
and the phrase sounds musical as ever,
radio crooning songs of love after the game,
the girl leaning back in the Chevy’s front seat
as her raven hair flames in the shuddering
light of the outdoor movie, and now he drives,
gliding toward the net. A glass wand
of autumn light breaks over the backboard.
Boys rise up in old men, wings begin to sprout
at their backs. The ball turns in the darkening air.
When I imagine my poem I see old men trying to play a pick up game at a local park . I find this poem very interesting because its about basketball and I also play basketball. In my opinion the best line in the poem is when he says "The heavy bodies lunge, the broken language of fake and drive, glamorous jump shot slowed to a stutter." This line is the best line because it is very funny to Imagine a group of old men trying to play basketball but they are really tired and short winded. Also them trying to shoot but cant really shoot because they can't really move. This poem also talks about how the old man want to relive there youth but they really can't because they are too old. The poet expresses this in the line when he says "the girl leaning back in the Chevy’s front seat as her raven hair flames in the shuddering light of the outdoor movie." I also find it amusing that the poet questions weather or not the old men can please there wives when he says, I wonder, do they still make love to their wives, kissing the undersides of their wrists, dancing the old soft-shoe of desire?" This poem was amusing because I have seen guys just as the poem explain.

Othello & Wiz
I like the song Young wild and free for the scene of the men drinking because it explains the whole night.
Iago is trying to make Cassio drink by telling him to just let loose and have fun just as the song says.
The rest of the men are just getting drunk and they don't have a care in the world about there behavior as the song
also says.

So what we get drunk
So what we don't sleep (smoke weed)
We're just having fun
We don't care who sees
So what we go out
That's how its supposed to be
Living young and wild and free
[Bruno Mars - Chorus]
So what we get drunk
So what we don't sleep (smoke weed)
We're just having fun
We don't care who sees
So what we go out
That's how its supposed to be
Living young and wild and free
[Wiz Khalifa]
Uh, and now I don't even care
Long as me and my team in here
There's gon' be some weed in the air
Tell 'em Mac-
[Wiz Khalifa]
That's how it should be done
Soon as you thinkin' you're down
Find how to turn things around
Now things are looking up
[Snoop Dogg]
From the ground up
Pound up
It's Taylor Gang
So turn my sound up
And mount up
And do my thang
[Wiz Khalifa]
Now I'm chillin
Fresh outta class feelin'
Like I'm on my own
And I could probably own a building
Got my own car
No job - no children
Had this science project
Me and Mac killed it
[Bruno Mars]
So what we get drunk
So what we dont sleep (smoke weed)
We're just having fun
We don't care who sees
So what we go out
That's how its supposed to be
Living young and wild and free
[Wiz Khalifa]
Yea, roll one, smoke one
When you live like this you're supposed to party
Roll one, smoke one, and we all just having fun
So we just, roll one, smoke one
When you live like this you're supposed to party
Roll one, smoke one, and we all just having fun
[ All - Chorus]
So what we get drunk
So what we don't sleep (smoke weed)
We're just having fun
We don't care who sees
So what we go out
That's how its supposed to be
Living young and wild and free
[Wiz Khalifa]
So what
We get drunk
So what we smoke weed
Were just having
Funnn
And we don't care who seee [Snoop Dogg](we don't care who sees)
So what we go out
That's how it's supposed to beee
Livin' young , and wild , and free
Iago. O, they are our friends; but one cup: I'll drink for
you.
you.
Cassio. I have drunk but one cup to-night, and that was
craftily qualified too, and, behold, what innovation
it makes here: I am unfortunate in the infirmity,
and dare not task my weakness with any more.

Cassio. Where are they?
Iago. Here at the door; I pray you, call them in.
Cassio. I'll do't; but it dislikes me.

With that which he hath drunk to-night already,

Montano. Good faith, a little one; not past a pint, as I am
a soldier.

Iago. Some wine, ho!
[Sings]
And let me the canakin clink, clink;
And let me the canakin clink
A soldier's a man;
A life's but a span;
Why, then, let a soldier drink.
Some wine, boys!

Paragraph Rephrase
Iago was sneaky in many ways. He constructed a well thought out plan to sabotage Othello without anyone knowing what he was really doing. Iago would seem to be the most faithful in Othello eyes but and reality he was really plotting on him. One of the many sneaky plots was when he got Cassio drunk and then telling Montana to start a fight with Cassio. Another sneaky thing Iago did was when he told his wife to steal the handkerchief of Desdemona. The reason he wanted her to do so is so he could tell Othello that he saw Cassio with Desdemona's handkerchief.

Quote revise
Quote:
"It is merely a lust of the blood and a permission of
the will. Come, be a man. Drawn thyself! drown
cats and blind puppies. I have professed me thy
friend and I confess me knit to thy deserving with
cables of perdurable toughness; I could never
better stead thee than now. Put money in thy purse;"
Comments:
In this scene Roderigo is crying hysterically about Desdemona.
In this quote Iago is speaking to Roderigo about how he needs to man-up about losing Desdemona to Othello. Iago is trying to tell that Desdemona and Othello won't last so he still has a chance. In this scene Roderigo reveals how emotional he really is.

Iago thinking
1) Iago is trying to make other people think that Othello is not faithful to Desdemona. He also is stereotyping Othello by saying he is just a player. For example in the excerpt Iago says, "These Moors are changeable in their wills." He also thinks Othello is going to get tired of Desdemona. He expresses this by saying "the food
that to him now is as luscious as locusts, shall be to him shortly as bitter as coloquintida."
2)Iago use the tactics of stereotyping to make the people he is explaining Othello and Desdemona relationship. For example, Iago use the stereotyping that all "Moors" are player and that he will get tired of her and move on to another girl.

Othello Questions
I want to discuss two things from the story Othello. First thing i want to discuss why do Iago, Roderigo, and Brabantio all hate Othello (the Moor). Obviously because they are racist against black people. Roderigo showed how he contributed to his hatred toward Othello because he called him "thick-lips". He was inferring that since Othello was black he had big lips. Iago thinks that Othello is not good enough for Brabantos daughter because he is black. And Barbantio thinks that Othello shouldn't be dating his daughter .The other thing i want to discuss is the what kind of a person would I expect Othello to be given the way they are talking about him. I expect Othello to be a very horrible guy. I expect him to treat Desdemona wrong because they always say how he shouldn't be with her. Also I expect him to be an average person because they just talk about him like he is anyone else and not like he's the moore. they also don't show
othello any respect for him to be the Moore.

Othello
O,a very intelligent Latino guy, he is married to Desi. They have been together for 2 years now and are happy together. So one day O went to visit his so called friend Jay.
O:"Hey man what's up Jay."
Jay:"Nothing much man. Just came from the gym."
O:"I should have went"
Jay:"Do you know Casey from Coconut Creek?"
O:"Yeah. What about him?"
Jay:"A couple of people told me that he saw him out to eat with Desi man."
O:"Really man?"
Jay:"Yeah man sorry you had to hear it from me."
O:"It's cool man. I'll have a talk with Desi when I get home."
So as O is walking home he is thinking about what he is going to say to Desi. He doesn't want to accuse her of talking to Casey but he also want to find out if the story is true. O is just arriving to his house.
O:"How was your day?"
Desi:"Good. What about yourself?"
O:"Good.I've heard some interesting news."
Desi:"And what interesting news is that?"
O:"Someone told me that you were with Casey out to eat yesterday."
Desi:"No I was home all day yesterday."
O:"Are you sure?"
Desi:"Yes I am sure."
O:"Ok I was just checking."
So the next day O had another talk with Jay about Desi having dinner with Casey.
Jay: "So what did Desi say about Casey?"
O:"She say's she was home all day man. But I don't know what to believe ."
Jay:" I don't know man just be careful man that let her play you."
O: "Ok man. See ya later."
Jay had to figure out another way to put Desi and Casey together in one place and have O see them together.

Summary
In the sense that I read there are three boys walking along
the train track and they forgot to bring food and they are low on water. The
important conflict is Teddy wants to dodge a train because he thought it would be alot more cool to dodge a train instead of a truck and his friend Gordie won’t
let him. So is trying to fight off Gordie so he can get back on the train
tracks to dodge the train. In this sense it shows how stubborn Teddy is because
even though Gordie is trying to stop him from dodging the train his is still
trying to anyways. This sense also reveal how much of a good friend Gordie and
how he really cares about his friends. In my opinion I think that Teddy’s other
friends besides Gordie are really cowards because they didn’t even try to save
their friend from getting hit by the train. It takes a really brave person to
do what Gordie did. Gordie risk his own life to save his from doing something
that was really foolish. This sense shows how brave Gordie really is. Chris shows that he is the peace maker of the group because he makes Gordie and Teddy make up and forgive each other.
