Pacer Hype

I feel like the hype about how the Indiana Pacers are undefeated is getting out of hand. People already starting to say that they are the best team in the east. Are we losing our minds? Did we forget there was a team that won the NBA championship last year, from the east, named the Heat. And also the Heat have the best player in the world named Lebron James. Don't get me wrong I think the Pacers are a great team but let's not get out of hand here, we all know who the real best of the east really is. The Heat have prove that when they really want to they could lock down any team in the league. So I think until the Pacers win the NBA championship, we shouldn't give them so much hype.

Lebron Return to Cleveland

Last week Lebron returned to Cleveland for his third time since going to the Heat. The fans were more nice this time compared to the last two times. The last two times Lebron returned to Cleveland the fans were harsh, every time he touched the ball they "boo" him, when he missed he missed a shot they "boo" him (he didn't miss that much). Then in the middle of the game a fan ran on the court and confronted Lebron. This year they barley even "boo" him, mainly because he played great. This time around they were more asking him to return next year because about to become a free agent.

Is Wiggins good enough to be compared to Lebron????

Lately sports analyze have been comparing Andrew Wiggins, a Canadian freshman at Kansas University, to Lebron James. Now personally I think Wiggins is a great player but I don't know if he have earned the privilege to be compared to Lebron. Lebron was on another level in high school, he had games on paper view. Everyone wanted to see him play he sold games out just him alone. His high school had to move there home games to the local college in Ohio. He was basically a superstar, everyone knew Lebron even if they didn't watch or play basketball. I think Wiggins would also agree with me. During the Big 12 media day Wiggins told ESPN that he have a long way to go before he could be compared to Lebron. He also stated "He is the best player in the world right now and I'm still in college. So I think it's really unfair to be compared to him."

Why Hate on Him???

The NBA recently had a poll asking 26 players who would they rather take the last shot Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, or Lebron James. 0% of the players chose Lebron to take the last shot. In my opinion I think the majority of the players didn't chose Lebron because they have some type of hatred toward him because of his move to Miami Heat. Here's a video below that debates about if the players were right or not.

Things I Carry

I carry around my phone because I like to listen to music in school and also in class. I listen to music in just about every class and also in the halls. I remember when I left my phone at home and I didn't have music to listen to, it was the most boring day ever in school. I couldn't text anyone, go on any of my social media accounts. So I guess my phone is very important to me.
I carry around my wallet because I have my credit card, my license, and my school ID and also because it looks now. I remember when I left my wallet at home and I had to drive to school. I got pulled over that day for the first time and I didn't have my license. Then I left my wallet one time and I didn't have my credit card and I had to get gas. So I ran out of gas and I had to wait for AAA to show up. Then last year I left my wallet home the same day I got the ticket and I didn't have my school ID and I couldn't get lunch in the cafeteria.

The intangible thing that I carry around is confidence. I think it is very important to always carry confidence with you. When you do have confidence you feel like you can do anything you want to do. Also you don't worry about what people have to say about you because you are confident in who you are. I remember I was taking a test and my friend and I had two different answers for a problem. So I was confident in my answer because I think I am the smartest, and when we got the test back my answer was right and friend answer was wrong. The point I'm trying to make is that because I didn't doubt my answer and change it to my friends answer and I stayed confident in my answer I was right. I'm not saying you shouldn't listen to someone if they give you advise just be confident in your final decision.

PLN 9: On to the next

The series is finally over. Through all the tough fought games and technical fouls the Heat are finally victorious. The series seemed a lot longer than it actually was. The Heat won in 5 games but it seemed as if they won in a 7 game series. Im pretty sure everyone knew that the Heat were going to win but it was nice to see the Bulls give it there all. In this series Lebron again had another great series not only scoring but he had a all around game. He rebound, defended, and also facilitated very well. The Heat will have their work cut out for them next series though. They have to play a very tough Pacers team that they will have to will crash the boards. This will be a great test for the Heat, hopefully they can prove to be the best.

PLN 8: Best MVP shoe ever made

So as we all know Lebron won his fourth M.V.P. this year. And every year he won the M.V.P. he made a special M.V.P. shoe. Last year he had the Nike Lebron 9. This year he wore the most craziest shoes I've ever seen anyone wear in a game. They were like 10 different colors and prints and patterns. In my opinion I think the 2013 M.V.P. Lebron X were his best M.V.P type shoe he has had. The style of the shoe makes it totally different from other basketball shoes that are out right now. Lebron wore the M.V.P. shoes for the first quarter than he took them off and put on a different type of Nike Lebron X shoes. He usually does this every year when he comes out with some type of special shoe.

So it looks like the Chicago Bulls is going to give the Miami Heat a run for their money this series. In game one of the series the Bulls showed great heart by not backing down to the defending champs. Nate Robison, the smallest guy on the court, really displayed his heart in game. He single handed took over the last minutes of the 4th quarter and lead the Bulls to a victory. Now lets talk about the Miami Heat. They were obviously not sharp as they usually are. I think they had to much time off and they weren't in the attack mode as they usually are and they were missing a lot of open shots. Lebron said during the game that would be good they just had to defend and that the shots will fall. But it seemed as if that night was just not their night, they couldn't buy a basket that night. After the game Lebron admitted that the Bulls just made some shot toward the end and that Chicago had got them in the penalty. But he wasn't to concerned about them losing the first game of the series because in the future games his team would make all the open shots that they missed. I think we all know that the Bulls have no chance in winning this series. I think he will go ahead win four in a row and send them home early. I hope they don't have such a long break as they did before this series so they won't be rusty.

"Win in six"

You may or may not heard of the statement that Brandon Jennings made about the series with the Miami Heat. His exact words were "I think we will win in six." When I heard this statement i could do nothing but laugh, which I am sure the Miami Heat did as well. There is no way the 8th seed had any chance in beating the best team in the NBA in six games. In his defense that is the most accurate answer you could when asked "Do your team have a chance at winning the series?" He couldn't just say he think were going to lose for straight, which will happen, he would sound like a coward if he said that. Lebron reaction was basically saying that Jennings comments were the least of his worries and the most important thing was preparation for the series. Wade had the same thought as me. He thought that Jennings comments were what Jennings was suppose to say. In my opinion I think that Jennings really meant what he said because me being a basketball player, you never ever say someones flat out better than you. If he would have had the mind set that they were going to get beat in four than that would be a problem. In conclusion, Jennings was 100% to have faith in his game and also faith in his team to win in six games against the heat.

MVP Race

Its the time of the year where the best of the best is chosen by the people. Its time for the defense of player of the year, all defensive team, scoring title, most importantly the M.V.P award. Right now it is for of obvious who will win his fourth MVP award. Lebron was obviously the best player this year. His numbers are just remarkable. In the two games he's played in recently, James shot close to 70 percent, averaged 27.5 ppg, 6.0 apg and 5.5 rpg. His total stats this seasons has spoken for itself.

He averaged 26.8 ppg, 8.0 rpg, and 7.3 apg, those numbers are crazy. I know the other M.V.P candidates may average more points than Lebron but Lebrons overall stats are just so well balanced and his shooting percentage is crazy. To think he made more than half his shots this, shooting at a outstanding 56.5% this season in total. In my opinion Kevin Durant is the only other candidate that has a chance to get even close to competing with Lebron for the M.V.P award, and Kevin Durant, who is a great scorer and knows how to get buckets, doesn't have the whole overall game as Lebron. He is lacking the defensive aspect to his game, as which Lebron has. If Lebron wins his fourth award, he will join the elite company of Kareem Abdul-Jabber, Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, and Wilt Chamberlain as players who have won at least four MVP award. I know Lebron main goal is to get a ring but it will be nice if he give his fans something to brag about (4 M.V.P awards).

PLN 4

I was watching the show "First Take", and they were arguing about is Lebron James an Hall of fame now in his career. In my opinion he is absolutely a Hall of Fame player now in his career. Lebron has done some amazing things in the past two years. Including saving the Heat from being eliminated from the playoffs in game 6, when he had 45 points. Also to winning a title after 10 seasons in the league and being criticized for every little thing he does. Lebron deserves to be in the Hall of Fame just alone of him handling all the harsh critics and still continued to perform on a high level. Another thing to think of is, the only excuse people said he's not the best is because he didn't have a ring, but now that he does have one why isn't he the best now? Personally I think if you don't think Lebron is a Hall of Fame player now, then you obviously hate Lebron or you just don't watch basketball.

Big Night in New Orleans for Lebron James!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lebron took his frustration from being beat up in the Chicago game and used it to good use. When I say a big night I may be underestimating his performance. He went nuts, hitting 7 3's in the game and hit six shots in a row at one point in the game. He had the opposing fans cheering for him. Check out the video above.

PLN 3

I found two articles  talking about Lebron being fouled excessively in his last game vs. the Chicago Bulls. One article talked about how Lebron is completely right about his frustration about getting fouled excessively. Also it discusses how Eric Spoelstra doesn't want to make a big deal abut it he said " It's just Miami vs. Chicago basketball." The other article talked about how Lebron shouldn't complain about the fouling because he also foul kind of on the aggressive side. The example used was when he got a flagrant fouled called on him when he tried to run over Carlos Boozer when he set a pick on Lebron. In my opinion I think Lebron is totally right. Lebron plays the game the right way and by right way I mean he doesn't really get technical fouls or flagrant fouls. This year Lebron only had one flagrant foul and he only got that one because he was standing up for himself. He also only have 6 technicals this year which is good considering the most technical fouls is 14.

Lebron vs Boston 3/18/13

Omg!!!!!! Did you see Lebron just flat out embarrass Jason Terry? In my opinion it may be one of the best dunks I've ever seen in a live game. Earlier during the week Terry was asked "Are you impressed with Miami Heats winning streak?" Terry replied by saying " I'm not impressed with the 22 game winning streak or anything else for that matter." Well I wonder is Terry impressed now. Have a look at maybe the best dunk ever under.

Introduction- PLN 1

Hi, my name's Jacolby. I would like to start a blog on Lebron James and his road to another M.V.P year, championship, and another M.V.P of the finals. Last year Lebron had an incredible season last year. His most amazing moment was when The Heat were facing elimination when they were down 3-2 to the Celtics in a 7 game series. His teammates said that they knew he was going to play a good game because he had a really focus look the whole day. He scored a season high in the playoffs of 45 points. He was literally unstoppable that night no one was able to guard him. From there he just took his team "on his back" and lead them to the Finals and to win. Topping the season off with gold medal with the U.S.A team. He was considered to be the unofficial M.V.P of the U.S.A team. Im interested in blogging about Lebron James because he a outstanding player and he is so humble. Even though he is so good, he doesn't brag about being good he just gives his teammates credit for most of his achievements. I will also have Lebron James top play or plays throughout the week.

Bar Napkin Sonnet by Moira Egan

Bar Napkin Sonnet #11

BY MOIRA EGAN
Things happen when you drink too much mescal.
One night, with not enough food in my belly,
he kept on buying.   I’m a girl who’ll fall
damn near in love with gratitude and, well, he
was hot and generous and so the least
that I could do was let him kiss me, hard
and soft and any way you want it, beast
and beauty, lime and salt—sweet Bacchus’ pards—
and when his friend showed up I felt so warm
and generous I let him kiss me too.
His buddy asked me if it was the worm
inside that makes me do the things I do.
I wasn’t sure which worm he meant, the one
I ate?   The one that eats at me alone?

I like this poem because it is very unique poem. What makes it so unique is that its uses humor to express the way they love this person. Also I have a great sense of humor so I could really relate to it. The poem is also so well described, I almost feel like I'm at the same bar as they are talking about.

How do people live up to their dreams?

People live up to their dreams by staying focus on their dream. By staying focus I mean they don't let anything get in their way of achieving their dream. Along the way of living up to there dreams something may distract them but you have to be strong minded enough to stay focus. Also to live up to your dreams you have to be dedicated to whatever your dream may be. To stay dedicated goes "hand and hand" with being focus. When you are dedicated to something you have to have a tremendous amount of focus. People usually don't live up to their dreams because they lose track of what their dream is along the way of achieving their dream. They tend to have a little trouble in trying to complete their and they give up because they are not determined enough to live up to their dream. I think the most common reason why people don't live up to their dream is because they are not willing to put the work in to achieve that dream. Which in some cases is sad because they give up when they were so close to achieving their dream. If you have a dream that you are passionate about then you should try to do everything in your power to try and accomplish that dream. And you shouldn't give up till you have lived up to your dream. Because you never know if you could have lived up to your dream until you try.

Lebron Blog Reflection

I found a incredible blog about Lebrons 2012 playoff run and his other accomplishments written by Tom Ziller. The layout of the blog is genius. After he write about a certain game or moment in the game he includes a video or photo of the moment or highlights of the game. I also like how the writer added how Lebron James failed in the NBA finals the year before. That made the things he accomplished seem just as greater now. The writer also includes a little humor to the blog. He has video of Lebron dancing after he won the Gold medal and he also has a video of Lebron dancing before his game against the New York. Overall I love this blog because I'm a huge fan of Lebron and I admire the way he played during the playoffs and finals this year after playing not so well in the last finals against the Dallas Mavericks. I also play basketball and its just cool to see that other people share the same thoughts about how great Lebron James. If you want to take a look at the blog here is the link: http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2012/12/26/3804188/lebron-james-2012-retrospective-nba-mvp-olympics.

Blog Reflection

As I reflect on my previous blogs since August, I realized that i have became a much better writer than when I first started writing blog post. My favorite part about some blog post is posting a picture with my writing. The picture helps me express what I have to say easier. I think my best blog was the mash up of Othello lines and a Wiz Khalifa song. It was fun to use a song that I love while also learning about Othello. I think my weakest area in the beginning was the length of some of the blogs. I had the tendency  to only write only a couple of sentences. But over the months my blog post began to become a little more lengthy. I want to try to get more views on my blogs as well because the material is so well written I think it should be seen.
